Below are links to documents that you will need to print and fill out before your safari begins as well as a suggested packing list for personal items.
U.S.A. Customs Form 4457
U.S. Customs Form 4457 must be completed and stamped in the USA before boarding your flight to South Africa. It proves ownership of personal items, such as rifles, taken out of the country.
You have to take your guns to the local customs office. You should also take your camera, binoculars etc. and have them put on the form as well. The customs officers verify serial numbers and look at the items and then they sign the form. If you need to find a customs office, go to www.customs.gov and click on ports and then scroll down to your state [see Locations link below]. It will list each city that has an office.
